Slaters Terrace

The regeneration of “On The Banks” included the redevelopment of Slater Terrace and Sandy Gate along with the north light shed areas that connected these two historic structures. PWA undertook the structural design of the buildings throughout including the facade retention of the north light structure, retaining some of the historic fabric so it could be read for future generations to understand the history of this significant collection of buildings in the weavers triangle. Fire damage had impacted the sandy gate mill so remedial works were designed to reinstate structural integrity and bring back into use a building that had stood empty for years. Balustrading was meticulously reconstructed to PWA specifications and the slater terrace was reinstated to create modern workspaces that ensure the long-term future for these important structures.
