Scargill House – Wharfedale, North Yorkshire
PWA Group have been involved with various developments at Scargill House. With the latest being the refurbishment and alterations to the ‘Marsh Lounge’. Originally ‘value engineered’ by the inclusion of four columns. It was our scope to redefine the space to the Architects original intention of a column free space. We designed a steel grillage to sit neatly within the existing building fabric to allow the removal of columns whilst maintaining the original aesthetic of the space. The Grade 2 listed building at the Scargill Movement House has now been fully refurbished. Enhancing the space even more with the removal of the columns.
In additional a new parking area has been created with electric charge points. Following our inspections of the existing sewerage systems – a new foul water treatment plant was installed replacing the previous septic tank. Ensuring the building with deliver effective treatment and the local habitat enjoying enhanced water quality.
